Blue was £500 around 18 months ago.

To us he is priceless.  I would easily part with that amount of money again for another bundle of trouble  ;)

I paid £600 for Molo over 2 years ago - there was a litter advertised in the local paper at the time we reserved him for £450, all KC registered etc...but we happened to know that it was a local "commercial" breeder  :-\

I really don't think price is a good indicator of a good breeder - you only need to look at how much some commercial or backyard breeders charge for x-breeds........ ::)

I paid £400 for Penny in Oct 2002. The price was comparative to cocker prices in the north west of england at the time and she is from from reputable lines.
Karen, Penny, Logan, Phoebe and Bronte.

I paid £450 for Indy last July.

Even though she is the daftest lump I''ve ever met, she's worth every penny, plus the countless amount I've spent since getting her.  :luv:

The average price in Scotland is now £500-£550. I don't known any show breeders charging more or less than these figures.

pepper £10 :luv:
 liath .. present ( my 40th) :luv:
Rolo...present for delivering him and saving the rest of the litter. :luv:
but they are all priceless to me.

however pups go for around 350 - 450 for  k c reg workers of good working pedigree in  highland region at present time.
show types I havent a clue but I believe prices can be higher. Do the showing fraternity get together to decide on what they are charging or is it done less formally.

Well I've still not got my own cocker but have been looking at ads for months and spoken to varous breeders! We went to see two litters yesterday, not to buy but so my husband could get some experience of Cockers!  :o Thankfully he was very impressed and it has been settled that a cocker will join us at some point in the not too distant hopefully!  :005:

Prices are varied but we are prepared to pay as much as necessary to get the right puppy! Hubby was astonished when I told him one litter I was looking at about 6 months ago was £650 but after listening to me explain why getting a puppy from a reputable breeder is so important he is happy now to pay that when the time is right! The puppies we saw yesterday - one was a BYB the other one wasn't a puppy farm but was very close!!!! The chap even said at the time that breeding puppies was very lucrative!  >:D I could have slapped him!

I must repeat though that we did not go and see these puppies to buy them! I certainly wouldn't dream of it!!!! Oh and they were priced at £500-550! One breeder wouldn't entertain the KC

We got Maddy at 17 weeks from a young couple who had her from a pet breeder, however she has a great pedigree, I didn't ask what they had paid but gladly handed over the £400 they wanted for her, sadly for them they bought first and thought after as they had 3 children one a young baby just crawling.
Lucky for me though as she is and always will be the Very Best £400 we ever spent.
Just dare not add up what we have spent on her since  :005: not that she is spoiled or anything  :005: :005:

We paid £600  for Louie.

That was the average price although we were close to buying a puppy from another breeder and she was asking £700. The price was not a determining factor in our choice though, we figured that if we couldn't afford the puppy, we would not be able to afford some of the associated costs.

We also found some were asking a little more for bitches.
