runs...
« on: August 08, 2007, 04:00:35 PM »
Milo has been home 5 days now and has not passed a solid poo - should I be worried?
I know the move & water change  can cause  runs, but seems a long time - they are firmer than they were
will try him on some rice/egg tonight with his dinner but just wanted to know if this has been too long? He's tip top in himself, drinking and eating fine, running us ragged etc - just need some confirmation that I'm being an overly worried mummy please!  :-\

Hiya,
if his poos are starting to become a bit firmer then I wouldn't bother with trying any egg or rice as it seems like he's finally adjusting to whatever it is that has given his tummy a bit of an upset. If he is okay in himself and not looking down in the dumps then he's not getting dehydrated and is getting enough nutrients from his food before it passes through him. Obviously if you see no further improvement in him through the next couple of days then I would think that a quick trip to the vet might be in order.

Have you got him on the same food as what the breeder had him on? and the same flavour?

Good luck with him

Best wishes

Mary

Personally I would go to the vet. 5 days is a bit long for a baby puppy to have the runs. Take a stool sample with you when you go, it could be worms.
