« on: October 23, 2007, 11:07:49 PM »
Is it normal for pups to eat cat poo?  :o . Chewie has been in the back garden savouring my neighbours cats deposits.  >:D He now has vile poo breath and I feel sick  :P Is there anything I can do to stop him ?

Yes, it's normal. Disgusting, but normal  >:( ::) The only thing to be done for it is to clean up after the cats before he does  :005:

Mine have pretty much outgrown this on their own, thankfully

Don't know about the stopping it part but murphy did it when he was first home. I just keep an eye on him in the garden and get rid of any cat poop that turns up asap. Didn't do him any harm but yes, it is stomach churning!!!

Coco used to do this and used to eat her own poo as well as any other poo she came across when out on walks  >:(  The only way is to be very vigilant about clearing up any poo you can see asap.  If I saw her doing it, I used to say a very firm "No" and distract her with a tasty treat ;)  She seems to have grown out of it pretty much now and will stop if I tell her no - unless it is horse or sheep poo in which case she will just grab a big mouthful and run off  ::)  :005:

be careful, Roxy ate a big bit of cat poo she had dug up and was really sick! resulted in a very early bath as she had sick all over her ears and several injections at the vets!
