Teehee I love the word chuntering! My Delta doesn't do this, but she does drop her teddy or kong on my knee or if I'm at the table chuck it on the table (it has landed in my cereal numerous times!)
What colour is your little man? He looks choco?

Bix chunters and, yes, it's really cute.
Poppy never did.

William is a talker too. Everyone at training thinks he's hilarious when we do something like a 5 minute down stay. There's silence, or quiet chat amongst owners, until we all go back to our dogs and get down to their level to praise them. All the dogs get a bit wriggly and silly but William has to put his paws on my knees, his cheek against mine and tell me all about how good he's been with arr, arr, arring and sometimes a hoo-hoo if he's really excited :luv:

Charlie also chunters when he wants us to play. He will put the toy or ball at your feet and make it known he wants to play. Its nothing like a woof woof bark, its a quiet woo, woo noise.  :luv: If you ask him what he wants he does it even more!  :005: Makes me laugh every time.

Selby is the same, if I say flat and he does not go flat so of course I keep repeating myself until he goes flat but not without him giving me a humph.
