Equifleece or rain coat or neither or both
« on: December 16, 2011, 11:08:28 AM »
Personally i think Robbie at 11 months is not going to get too cold when out walking as he just runs everywhere - however he does get very very wet and then feels cold afterwards.

So in your opinions - do you think an equifleece would be better - this way he could have that on as soon as i put him back in the car to stay warm.

Just looking at the site for the fleeces and they give guidelines for measuring but I also note that they suggest slim fit for cockers.  Anyone got opinions on this?

Thanks  :D

Hi.  I spent weeks agonising over whether to get Toby an Equafleece or an overall "raincoat".  I decided on an Equafleece which he has been wearing for two weeks now.  He loves it and it gives him more freedom of movement as well.  Toby wears it while he's out as it keeps him warm and all the covered bits of his body are bone dry when I take it off.  It's really only his ears, feet and inside back legs that get wet.  I wouldn't be without it and OH has just bought him another one for Christmas - just waiting for it to arrive.  If you go with an Equafleece, I don't think you'll need the slim fit - just measure from breastbone to base of tail.  Toby is 22" and it fits beautifully.

PS so easy to wash and dry as well.  I just put it in the airing cupboard and it's dry in an hour or so.

I just got Pippa an equafleece.  She is wearing it now because it is cold in the house (we have turned off the central heating and are experimenting with just the woodburner, but it hasn't got going fully yet this morning).  She seems to really like the equafleece.  We have mainly been using it after walks to dry her off, but when it was snowing on Wednesday I put it on her to go out for a walk and it kept her really dry.  So far we are really pleased with it.  We didn't get slim fit either and it is still snug.

Bob has a Hurtta pro overall which he has on in the rain mud or snow
as after his morning run i do not have time to take him home and de mud him or dry him
before we both go off to work

and he has an Equifleece if we get caught in the rain, to put on him after a walk to keep him warm
I do find the equifleece creates some static which make Bob go a bit knotty

Yup, got Toby's from there.  By the way, it's the four legged dog suit that he's got.

Another equafleece fan here. Penny has the 22" normal fit and there's room for a bit of growth yet (she's only 7 months) but it's fine for her now as well. Today out in the snow all three dogs wore their tankies and there wasn't too much drying to be done when we got home. Great.

Odie loves his 4 legged equafleece, it's so handy when the weather is wet, he struts around the house with it :luv:  He got his last year when he was 9 months old (22" standard fit) and it still fits him now at nearly 2 years old so a good investment.  We also have the 4 legged hurrta overalls which will be used for the snow as Odie gets massive snowballs on his legs :lol2:
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

I was thinking about that too....I cant imagine the snowballs yet but have been told many times.  :'(

Robbie is off for a hair cut tonight and I am thinking more off than usual.  :'(

Cant wait for fleece to come through now. :D

This is Tobes in his.  Still waiting for the other one, normally they are very quick but I suppose it's the Christmas rush. (Tobes needs a foot trim by the look of it  :005:)
