Title: good waterproof coat
Post by: maxineh on September 12, 2013, 02:58:36 PM
Seems like the damp wet weather is upon us and had a wet dog last few days which will no doubt get worse in the winter  :005:    so I have been looking through old posts to see recommendations for a good waterproof coat. Poppy is very fluffy and when it rains (invariably on the school run  >:(   )takes her ages to dry off. Looked at the ones on zooplus but they haven't got many sizes anymore. Also seen a mention to equafleece. Do dogs wear these to go out in the rain or are they better for drying off after ? Are there any others you can recommend ? So many out there like all things doggy good to get recommendations  :D

Hi, we have equafleece and a hurtta coat,
The hurtta jacket is better in the rain in my opinon, the equafleece in the cold and its good for putting on after being out and got wet.
Would recommend both but purely for rain then the hurtta .

Hurtta pro overall for us

Equafleece are good, but I only ever use them for drying him in (if he's got wet, or been to the beach when it's cold).

We also have the zooplus overall but I much prefer the hurtta. I wouldn't buy the zooplus again but I certainly would buy the hurtta again (nothing wrong with the zooplus ones, just hurtta is better)

And here, but my two have the Hurrta coat rather than the suit like Charlie.

We have the Hurtta coat too. Penny has a blue one which still looks like new despite a fair bit of wear. She also has a couple of equafleeces as well, one with legs for warming up and drying inside and one without legs for very cold weather outside.

We have an equafleece for indoors after the rain but I think I'll invest in a hurtta this year for those really bad days.

Can I ask you what you have around his ears?  Is this something that comes with the Hurtta, or something you bought seperately?

Thanks
Christine

Mine have Equafleeces. Louis wears his after wet walks because he likes to splash in all the mud and puddles. William wears his during wet walks as he hates getting wet and plods along by my side with a reproachful look if it's raining heavily, but is a bit more active if he's in his Equafleece.

It's separate, it's a snood from trudes snoods. He only wears it if it's absolutely p-ing down, or for his last wee before bed (he normally slaps me with wet ears).

We've recently bought 2 snoods off trudes snoods, a waterproof one and a cotton one. We've just been through the curse of the grass seed! Meg's not keen though and by half way round the field it ends up like a scarf round her neck! >:D can 100% recommend trudes snoods though.

Can you give me an indication of price?

Thanks! :)

£4.99 each, I'm just going to order a waterproof one and a fleece one.
