Morning all and thank you
Still got to try and put a picture up (not that I have many
) @Andyb we were after a black girl, but ended up with a golden cockerdile
Well day 2 Ash was introduced to the remainder of down stairs,( day one was kitchen and hall to garden), her collar, which you would have thought she had fleas around her neck
she went on her first lead walk (front garden only - which is our main garden and includes a paddock) she was only out for 5 minutes and all we did was walk and if the lead went taught I stopped until it was loose. (I am using the gun dog training part one)
Day 3 - well Ash decided to introduce herself to upstairs this morning
(she got up first 2 steps and then was carried up, wasn’t going to introduce her to upstairs yet but she had other ideas
) so the stair gate is now in use again
Plans for today are to get her out in the car again but this time in her crate in the boot and also a little walk (Ash being carried) to see horses and cows - all this will be a max of 20 minutes
Tomorrow we will do another session of lead walking in the garden and then be carried to watch some cars, lorries and tractors going past
Trying not to introduce her to too much each day but the window of socialisation is so small
Yes all of this on top of toilet training and learning “sit”
Day 2 she already seems more confident and this morning (day 3) she was lying in her crate when I came down, not sure what time she was last out for toilet before I got down (possibly 3am, as I have my youngest at home due to Covid-19, who’s in their early 20s, so they would have put her out around 12am and then before they went to bed. Youngest is stricter with dog training than we were with our last one) Ash was put to bed at 10pm and settled a lot better.
