We had our first puppy class today
« on: December 05, 2010, 05:19:56 PM »
Millie was the best behaved there :D so proud of her!
We covered sit, stay, walking on a lead properly and eye contact and keeping it. All of which we have already taught mille to do. Just wanted to blow my own trumpet really
Seeing the other puppies (there were 2 labs, a labradoodle, and a cross breed) made me realsie how good millie is and how clever she is. Only problem was the last 10 mintues, when she tried to go to sleep as she was tired!
Not too sure to the ladies teaching methods but we shall see how the next class goes. It annoyed me how she spent 20 mintues of the hour trying to sell us her leads, collors and dog food. Grrrrrrrr.
All we need to do now is teach millie not to eat all the chicken poo in the garden :-\ >:D

We managed this!

Shall I tell you what we did?

We keep the chickens in their own pen now, and Alfie isn't allowed in there!

Success!  :D

(Nothing else would work *PLUS* one of my chickens attacked Alfie once! So we had no choice really!)

Lol, the chickens have a huge area of the garden sectioned off but one of them is a escape artist and gets into the garden and poops everywhere! We have no idea how she gets out as her wings are clipped! she is a  >:D chicken!

Have you clipped both of her wings or just one?

No just the one so she flies in circles ;)
If you clip both she will be balanced and be able to fly again :D

No! lol

I thought maybe that's what you'd done, if she was escaping!

It's possible that she is jumping out, and has just learned to rebalance herself to compensate for the missing feathers.

Well done millie! Can I ask how old she is as I'm wondering when to start delta at classes, delta loves my chickens (+ducks!) She will chase them around their pen and whip them into a frenzy but doesn't nip/bark/bite them, totally freaks them out and narks mummy off as she goes into hunter mode and all of a sudden developes deafness to whatever I say!!
