The breeder I've opted for has been recommended by cocker owners and the vet I use. I've got to know him and some of his dogs quite well over the last four-five months and have been to his for coffee and he's been here and met all our motley crew and had a bbq with us. He has a 5wk old litter hich my kids have been helping him to socialise as he has no kids. I have a soft spot for my pups mum Molly so was eager to wait once I found out he wanted a pup from her. We haven't handled her young pups yet, just quietly peered in whilst Molly tended to them, then left her too it. Just wanted to point all that out for those that were concerned he was letting us see them too soon!
My kids have a few favourites among his dogs who I think love it when I visit with the kids - they get toys out of everywhere for the kids to play with them so I think Jim plans for us coming - a couple of hours of cocker madness then calm descends when we leave
I'm not planning to show but despite this Jim's agreed to show me how to trim the coat and ears and all over etc as I want to be able to do all that too, and I know he's always there for advice if I need any!. I think I'm even going to Crufts with him next year as I've never been and have no one to go with. I can shop, then crash out and look after his dogs whilst he stretches his legs. My OH was invited too but isn't interested - has opted to stay at home and look after the kids
I can't wait for my little pupster, can't stop looking at puppy stuff at Pets at HOme and online!
I think "Benson" is top of our name list at the mo though we're waiting til the pup gets a little older then we'll decide once his little personality shows through.
