Pebbles - her first week with us
« on: June 29, 2011, 10:54:07 AM »
Morning everyone.  Well, we collected our gorgeous little 8 week old orange roan girl on Friday.  She is doing amazingly well.  The first night she cried quite a bit but since we discovered that she likes to fall asleep if possible lying across one of our feet we put an old slipper of ours in her crate the second night and since then she has slept without a whimper from about 11pm - 6.30am.  Hope we haven't done the wrong thing  :-\ but it does seem to settle her.  Because I work part time she has been into work with me and as long as I take her out atleast once a hour we have had no accidents.  She is eating well too.

We have set up a website for her (mainly because the breeder's children really wanted to keep her and we thought it would keep them up to date with her progress).  It is at www.dblogic.co.uk/pebbles if anyone is interested to see her pictures.

Second injections next week and then I have booked her in for puppy training classes which start in August.  Have to say I had forgotten how exhausting a new puppy is but she is so worth it.

What a beautiful wee girl! And I love the name.

I'm eagerly awaiting my little black girl who comes to me in mid-July when she'll be 10.5 weeks, so they'll be around the same age.

Gosh she is adorable and so like my little Holly  :luv:  Holly is classed as orange and white but her brothers and sisters apart from one black and white are all roan.  I am always confused by orange & white and orange roan.
I see Pebbles has the same lovely long eyelashes as Holly..... :luv: :luv:

Just to say I really enjoyed your website and pictures so far - that's a great idea, and thanks for sharing. Pebbles is so sweet! (Wish I had the patience to do similar so my friends can keep up to date with my new pup's progress when I get her on the 14th! But I know I'd never keep it up even if I started it!)   :005:

Glad everyone liked the website.  It was my hubby's idea and he works in computer programming so no trouble for him. I wouldn't have a clue.  He uploads the pictures for me and then I type in the words.  Mind you as you can see since we got her just over a week ago I haven't updated much  ;)  Could be something to do with a) taking her out every hour or so for wees etc b) having to get up much earlier than before and go to be much later c) trying to work from home

Oh the joys of owning a puppy.  Still she's worth it.

I was confused as to the Orange Roan colouring as well.  To me she is orange and white but still.  Our last cocker was a beautiful blue roan boy and her litter mates were blue roan too so didn't want reminders of him constantly.

Happy puppy days everyone :D

So cute...I know exactly what you mean about being tired....Kayla is 14 weeks now and I am just beginning to feel that I have a little time to myself. The past 2 nights she has slept in her crate with door closed from 10.30 till 6am  ;)
They are so worth it though. :luv: :luv: :luv:
