I'm picking up a new puppy in a couple of weeks but I'm stuck on choosing a name!
The dogs I have now and in the past have always had names ending with "eee" like Cassie and Winnie etc.
Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
She's a blue roan show cocker. :D
-
Have you got any thoughts on what youl like so far and we could help you pick from there ;) Any photos of your girl that might help too ;)
-
PS did you want a name ending in 'eeeee'? i like Bonnie ;)
-
I like Millie :D
-
My next one is going to be Molly, what about Sapphie or Saffy (short for sapphire - blue), Holly, Maisie, Jessie, Daisy, Lilly. Think I should stop now, I'm thinking I need a Lilly too! Lol
-
My girl arriving at Easter is going to be Lottie - I also liked Darcy, Phoebe and Buffy. Think I've got a thing for the -eee sound too...
:D
-
Lucy?
Saffron (as it will be near Easter)
-
I have an "eee"as well mine in Lexi I nearly went with Siri but OH thought it was taking my Apple mania to far lol
-
I love Hettie, Bronte, Lucy, Gracie, Lily, Molly.
Oh, the list goes on.
Good luck. X

How about Snoopy?

How about Snoopy?
Snoopy's a boy's name (I like it though - but only if the dog's colouring is black and white)!
I like Daisy. The female dogs around here tend to have the same names - Poppy & Molly are super-popular, then there's Katy, Lucy, 3 Myrtles (?), Abby. Most of the dogs around here seem to be male, oddly enough!

My OH nick named Willow 'Snoopy' at a young age due to her floppy ears and its kind of stuck she gets called Snoopy or Snoops more than she gets called Willow. Bless her heart she answers to either :005: :005:
-
Darcie, Gypsy, Indi, Lacey, Macy
-
If she likes rolling in things like my pooch then Stinky is appropriate!

Or perhaps Swampy for a bog loving cocker .... :005: :005:

Can you imagine shouting that out in the park?!!
-
Yes shouting Lovely Spud is bad enough but i've heard worse. One of my neighbours shrieks "get your furry little ar*e in here" at her dog first thing in the morning!
-
I quite like Swampy! :D
-
What about Betty ? Cally ? Frannie ?
-
I like Betty or Dotty
-
The good thing about wee names is that they are very easy to call out!
Jessie, Maisie, milly, Tilly, and the list goes on....
-
Also like Bronte
-
Minnie or Lucy
Our 3 ees were / are peggy, mindy and poppy
But I have found that no matter what name you decide on, when you see your baby a name will just pop into your head and chances are it won't be the one picked
-
There are loads of websites to help you choose - just Google 'cocker spaniel names'. This is how we chose Ozzy's name - when we saw it on a website we realised that it would suit him as he was really chilled and laid back when we first met him, and he reminded us of Ozzy Osbourne. :005:
Chilled and laid back?? How wrong we were!!!! :shades:

How about Saphire as she's a Blue Roan - Saffy for short :D

I quite liked Agnes, only so that I could have a Waggy Aggy, however my husband and son both said a very loud no! Next on the my list was Darcy, Colin, Kevin and Dave. We now have a Margot.
-
I have a Phoebe but quite like Katie and Sally :luv: x x x
-
I like Janey and Merry, both of which were rejected by my Mum when she was naming Jade!
-
If I ever have another........and if she's anything like Ruby, I'll call her Gabbi (or Gobbi!) :005: :005: :005:
-
Penny or ginny?
-
I was going to call my new puppy Masie but my hairdresser called her daughter that so I changed it to Molly!

Hi thanks for all your suggestions, there are some lovely names....
I still haven't quite found "the one" though.
Maybe when I pick her up in a couple of weeks it'll just happen....
-
It has to be Ellie - such a classy name!

That is sometimes the case - a name comes to you after she has lived with you for a while - I had a poodle who I could not think of a name for - until I saw her playing with a flowerpot...and she got called Pippa, after the telly gardening presenter :D
-
I love Mabel :luv: my next cocker will be Mabel, even if it's a boy :005:
-
I also found that I had to meet my pup before I knew his name , I thought he was Hugo but turns out he's Hudson !
-
We live in France our beautiful girl was born last November , here in France all pets born in 2012 have names beginning with H , so our baby is called Hesta ( means evening star) they don't use I , X , Q or Z .

Wow - I didn't know that about the year they are born and the names! Is it compulsory?
-
I used to have a guinea pig named Mabel!! Now just a lone piggy named Peggy, or Pegs as she gets called now.
I had a murphy (eeee sound),
I like
*Dilly/dillie,
Dollie,
*Cali,
Halle,
*Ginny,
Hattie,
Bridie,
*Jinty.
* = love those ones! Lol.
Though I too think that it would be wise to wait an see the puppy. I decided flynns name before we visited (wouldve been stan) and on the second visit I just thoughts it didn't suit him, so I changed it.

Hi Piph
Yes it is on registration documents .

Well, you learn something new every day!!! I'm assuming this is all 'registered' pets? What happens if some old farmer's mongrel has pups? Do they still have to be 'registered', and named with the letter of the year?
-
We have a Jazz/Jazzie (Jasmine), Abby and Georgie, and have had a Misty, Merlin, Nell and Sophie. My grandparents called every single dog they ever had either Bob or Jock as they loved those names. Made it easy to remember but in family reminiscences we end up talking about young Bob, old Bob, OLD old Bob....
When I was looking for a puppy the top contenders were Holly, Fizz, Dora or Lola as well as Poppy, but I met Pops on the morning of November 11th and Poppy just seemed to fit her perfectly. Now I know her better, Dora the Explorer would have fitted her very well too :005:
-
I named mine Mabel
-
How about Snoopy?
I'd have Snoopy as a girl's name too!!
When I saw the OP's username, it's gotta be an omen!!
-
Unless of course, the OP has, or has had, a dog called Snoopy already, hence the username... :D
