Post by: robkight on July 06, 2005, 04:26:41 PM
Hello everyone from us in West Lothian. :)
We are very impressed with this site which we found when doing some research before deciding to get a cocker spaniel. We have learned a lot of tips from you all already!
We are going tomorrow to choose our golden cocker boy and are very excited. We will post some photos as we get them but it will be about another 4 weeks before we get him.

Hi Andrew and Mark, i am in Perth and as i said before i have an 11wk old golden boy Ruben, good luck tomorrow, i didnt like the choosing day, i wanted them all!!! But what was strange was i picked Ruben from the day i went to visit the breeder when the pups were only 3wks old  but she asked me back when they were 5wks to confirm my offical choice and again i picked him. but the day i went to collect him he was the first one to run up to me, so i knew i made the right choice

Hi Andrew and Mark

I am from Cumbernauld and have a blue roan and tan called Sam.  He is 18 months old - never a dull moment.

I don't tend to post that much really but read everything on here on a regular basis and have found so much help and assistance.

Good luck with your pup

Hello

I'm in the southside of Glasgow and have had our black girl for exactly a week.

Good luck choosing but as folk have already said it will be totally obvious which one should go home with you .

We wanted a girl as my Dad has a cocker boy and I spend alot of time at their house. I knew when we went out to see the litter that there was only one bitch left and that the others were sold but I must admit I only had eyes for her (and vice versa).

We have been having our sagas specially the crying at night but this site is fantastic. Enjoy and good luck!

Hi Andrew & Mark,

Well have you been chosen!!!

We went to buy a black little girly and we got chosen by a golden girl, she was born on Christmas Day and we called her Holly. She is an absolute delight and we love her to bits.

I'm sure Dougal (great name) will be a very lucky little boy to be comming to live with you, sounds to me as though he's loved already.

Have fun getting prepared for him and get plenty of sleep!!!

Hi there,

I live just outside Glasgow and have Busby, a three year old solid black and Buster, an 18 month old blue roan. Buster is the only dog I have ever owned since he was a pup.  We didn't get to choose him because he was a 9 week old pup who had been chosen by another couple who were unable to collect him from the breeder because of a change in personal circumstances.

We went to see him and it was love at first sight. He remains an absolute angel. Wishing you every enjoyable moment of the whole seeing the puppy for the first time, holding the puppy, cuddling  the puppy experience and the enjoyment to follow. Have fun.

Best wishes, Macduck

Hi Andrew & Mark

Im from aberdeen and have a red cocker from Co.Durham.  My Pheobe is 18 months old and loves lots and lots of cuddles. Im sure she understands everything
i say, even 'Come give mummy a kiss'.

Im curious if your puppy is from the same people we purchased my Pheobe.
We searched for a good breeder locally, no joy. We went south, a long car journey
but well worth it i have a very healthy happy cocker.

Have lots fun with dougal. :D

Hi

We have indeed been chosen . Dougal came and sat in between us and didn't leave our side. he was very submissive and enjoyed getting his tummy tickled. There was no doubt whose puppy he was!

Hi Andrew and Mark
We did get our Pheobe from Anne and Mark they are lovely people.
We took Pheobe down to Durham for a visit last July and she played with all
the girls and Ally. Did you see Buster? We plan to breed Pheobe with him next year
He was only 8 weeks old when we last saw him, he was so gorgeous. :)

I bet you cant wait to get Dougal home. Can i ask who is Dougals mum and dad.
I was just thinking if Dougal is a red cocker his dad must be Buster and mum Jessica or madelyn or riaha.

How long now till Dougal come home?

I wish you lots and lots of fun.

That's amazing isn't it. Buster is Dad and Madelyne is Mum.....although Jasmine is at the moment inseperable from mum and the puppies.....
We are getting Dougal on Friday as is now weaned and he really took to us although this is a week and a bit early so we agreed to get his first injection.
We have been to see him twice the second time for 3 and a half hours and Dougal remembered us and seemed to respond to his name already. He sat with us the whole time and wasn't interested in Anne or Mark!! What a laugh we had. They are the nicest couple.

Best wishes for now

Hi Andrew and Mark
Good luck for friday, Can I ask is Buster much taller than madelyne cos he was a big puppy when we saw him last year? Also Pheobe is taller than madelyne and jessica.

Pheobes mum (saffi) is also madelyne's mum, so my pheobe is Dougals Auntie in around about way.

When we breed with Buster next year, Pheobes pups will be half brother and sisters to Dougal.

My last question has Buster got much blonde hair?

Take care, safe journey on friday hope its not too hot. Please say hello to Anne and Mark for me, hopefully we will see then soon. We were planning to visit then on our week off,  next week ,but they sound very busy, aslo Pheobe is off to come into season she is scenting lots.

Pheobe & Pepi xx

Buster is a wee bit taller than madelyne I think. He is a orange gold colour rather than a darker gold and they think our dougal should be the same.

Hi

Dougal has settled in really well and is not really disturbing us at night ....bless him , this morning we slept in through the alarm and he was waiting there quietly in his bed and then the excitement started! He already is starting to 'come' and we are working at sit. He gives us so much love it is wonderful.

Hi Jo and Dennis

You are right ....we love him to bits and he has so much love to give. He has settled in well and sleeps most  of the night..... he was still waiting for us in his bed when we went down this morning even though we slept in.
He is getting better at going outside for a wee although sometimes thinks he has to go inside for one if he is playing outside....but he has always went out for a poo !
He thought he would help me tidy up the lawn mower today and was taking the plug round the garden in his mouth. :P

Hiya Andrew Mark and the lovely Dougal,

We are so very pleased for you.

Hey Dougal do you realize what a lucky little pup you are, you was so clever picking these two to look after you, pleased to hear you are being a good little fellow (hope it lasts).

Sounds like your doing really well with the toilet training, Holly was great I think it helps if they have started being trained with the breeder, Holly had. Holly used to help in the garden too, she decided that we really did not need all those plants in our borders!!!!!!!! But she is 7 months now and is much better and knows that she should not go on that part of the garden.

Don't you just love them to bits, we really cannot imagine being without Holly now she is so much a part of our lives.

We wish you all many many happy love & fun filled years together.

((((((hugs)))))) - Jo & Dennis
