Merry Xmas to everyone !
Our almost 4 months puppy has gone a long way and a lot from reading this forum.
I was wonder if there is a must read to help me putting together a planned training which will help taking Seb to the next step and achieve the nirvana of a well trained cocker spaniel?
Many thanks!
Teresa

Here are my recommendations, not in any order.. I'd consider these 'must haves' and can be considered to be 'the classics'.
Cocker Spaniel: An Owner's Guide - Jane Simmonds
The Perfect Puppy - Gwen Bailey
Total Recall - Pippa Mattinson
There are millions of training books of varying usefulness (ask me how I know!). I found those by Lez Graham to have great advice with the least waffle and the most engagingly written - The Pet Gundog and The Advanced Pet Gundog. Training Spaniels by Joe Irving is also a good read.
Though not cheap, I found all of these to be well worth the investment.

Hi Teresa hope you are enjoying your 4 month old - Merry Christmas to you all
There are loads of books out there to look at it's a minefield isn't it
Agree with Barry re The Perfect Puppy - Gwen Bailey
I have numerous and am re-reading them due to (fingers crossed) a new puppy will be joining us late March - Lost my last dog August this year so currently dog less :'(
How to train your cocker spaniel by Liz Palika - is a good easy read with pictures and tips - this one was £5.95 according to the price sticker still on it but that was most probably over 10 years ago :005: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Train-Cocker-Spaniel-train-your/dp/0793836557/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=How+to+train+your+cocker+spaniel+by+Liz+Palika&qid=1608992483&sr=8-1
The other I am reading is Training Spaniel by Joe Irving - price tag on this one I have was £16.95 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Training-Spaniels-Joe-Irving/dp/1853104191/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2MOSCGQIYUEYK&dchild=1&keywords=joe+irving+training+spaniels&qid=1608992523&sprefix=joe+irving+%2Cundefined%2C174&sr=8-1
