Seem to remember reading that slugs and snails can carry parasites that can effect dogs?   >:(
....speaking of which - I‘ve been giving Humphrey Billy No Mates and now often find tiny ticks crawling over him as they‘re apparently reluctant to bite. That is the good news, - bad news is, I‘ve found them crawling on me now and OH woke up with one that had already attached itself. Admittedly he‘d been outs mowing grass all afternoon but I‘m wondering if he caught the tick himself or if jumped from Humphrey?  >:D
Anyone know if BNM is suitable for hoomans  :shades:?  :005: :005:

Dylan went through a phase of picking up snails, there is a place in our garden where they congregate, but he grew out of it.  We just went out with him at night to check he wasn't picking them up, as yes, they do carry nasty parasites.  The phase didn't last long, thankfully, just puppy exploration.
Jayne, that is 🤮. Hope BNM isn't moving the problem on, but glad it seems to be working for Humph! We haven’t had any ticks yet, the weather has been so unseasonably cold and wet. I remember last time we were in eastern France and over in the Black Forest there were signs everywhere in the woods about ticks. They freak me out 😱🤮.

Slugs and snails can carry the lungworm parasite so you should actively discourage your puppy from messing with them.

My three year old grandaughter is at this stage too.  I found her singing sweetly to a baby slug, and yesterday she wouldn’t go home until a big black one safely and slowly negotiated a garden step.

She doesn’t eat them.

You should definitely discourage Ash from investigating slugs and snails.  As already mentioned they can cause Lungworm which is a very serious disease.
