Well I've finally turned legit. After months of lurking on this site i feel the need to come clean and admit my addiction to COL.I have logged in several times a week for about 7 months & am the proud (well sometimes) owner of rosie a black sprocker (mum cocker, dad springer). I have to say it is a while since I brought up a puppy & had forgotten the highs and lows involved. My OH has cocker issues & constantly queries why we didn't choose something small, fluffy, docile and low maintainance. I know. What fun is that when you can have a totally hyper no-brain black missile on speed ricocheting off the walls? Duh??? Anyway enough ramblings for now.COL has helped with so many issues over the last few months.I look forward to your advice when I get round to posting 'proper'. Docile and low maintenance????? A Cocker?????? MMM, not sure all of us would agree with that!!
Your sprocker sounds great - pics soon please!!
As for logging on a few times a week, soon you will logging on a few times a day, and before you know it you will be on here every waking minute, wondering why the chores are piling up and the kids are hungry...... :005: No seriously, it is very very addictive!!!!!

Hi welcome.
Recognising the addiction is the first part of overcoming it.....or so they say. Dont' think it works quite the same way for COL though!
We have Buddy, a blue roan, 1/4 worker, 15 months old. Not at all hyper!

Yup def more cocker than springer. I was going to try and pass her off as a working cocker, but thought I'd better come clean about her mixed parentage.
-
Whatever bits are cocker, springer - whatever who cares? :luv: She's ALL gorgeous spaniel that's for sure. Defo 'cockery' in looks though. Is she 'springery' in spirit? :P
-
I've never seen a sprocker before - she is beautiful :D

Hi, welcome to you and your lovely sprocker, we have a working cocker and possibly a spocker( can't be sure because we rescued him too) but definatetly a spaniel cross, anyway whatever he is he is the best boy in the whole world and the most handsome. he is the black one in the picture and couldn't help thinking that your little one looks like him. Anyway, welcome and enjoy the forum

Izzy is my 1st sprocker and is only 8 weeks old. I think she is an angel too but my OH disagrees when she is chewing on his shoes :005:

Hi Emms & Izzy, Rosie is just coming up for eight months, time has flown by seems ages since she was a little cutie like your girl.Take lots of pictures while she's growing they change so fast. She's my first spaniel, there where 2 pups left in the litter and it was her brother that I initially fell for.He was very laid back & way the smallest of the two.Markings a lot like Izzy. Rosie was the one that made it home with me,couldn't resist her energy! OH on the other hand is immune to her doggy charms & I've lost count of the number of times she has been on her VERY LAST WARNING!!! Rosie started on shoes & her latest demolition project - sofa in the conservatory >:D I would recommend a puppy crate if you haven't already got one, helps stop chewing when you go out & good place to hide when OH having a rant. Rosie dog & Nancy

welcome to col, no more lurking in the cold dark 'guest' quarters for you!
izzy is just beautiful - what a lovely sprocker baby....
(please, if there are any more sprocker lurkers come on in!!! would love to meet you all ;))
-
Hello and welcome,
You have a gorgeous pup there!! :luv:
-
I can see this is an old post but I too have a sproker my 2nd.
The first was rags a dog who looked springery and was black and white. my present sprocker is liver and white again a bit springery to the show type cockers but her mam is a working cocker and shes the spit of her except her colouring, her mams a lemon and white working cocker. her dad was a working dog too.. they had an illicit meetup at a shoot!!
good news for me as they are great dogs, one of the litter went to the army as a snifferdog...
my daughter whos 23 says when she is settled and can get a dog its a sprocker she will be after. right now she has no where suitable to keep a dog. :'( poor thing. so she comes home for a spaniel fix often... I know its not really me she misses as guess who gets sneaked up to her bed when shes here? pepperoni wobble bottom ! affectionately named as she wags her whole hind quarters when happy. pepper for short.
