Title: When can i introduce adult food
Post by: Juel on January 23, 2004, 12:19:40 AM
Hi everyone, :D
I wondered if you could give me some advice..Honey & Harvey are now 8 months old &  still on puppy dried food + puppy pouches, will i be ok to start introducing adult food to their diets slowly or is it still too early as the selection of puppy varieties is a bit limited.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank-you!

Hi Juel, I think it would be fine to gradually change them over to the adult version now.  Dallas went onto the adult Burns when he was 7 months.

Just to add that most ranges of food have a 'junior' level which you could use at this stage before you go onto 'adult' food.

I did this with Candy my first dog but then with the second one, Georgia, she kept stealing Candy's food so before you knew it, she was on the adult version!

Yes now is a good time to move to adult food as your pups are now more or less fully grown. I personally would not bother with Junior foods as I feel they are more a marketing exercise than a necessity but it's your decision :)
