We played the alphabet game when choosing a name for Jasper ie we each had to take it in turns to pick a name beginning with the next letter - an of course your not allowed to repeat!
Ones we liked were Barney, Buster, Dylan, Henry, Harvey, Max, Oscar, and Winston
Have fun with your pup
-
We trawled the net when we were searching for a name. Our list consisted of Dylan (my choice), Toby, Benji, Jake and Charlie. Eventually decided on Cody as all family agreed on this now can't imagine him as anything other than Cody. Whatever you choose he'll love it.

Most of my dogs' names start with a J. I have Jake, Jiggs, Jazz. My favourite J name for a cocker dog is Jolly. (I have read "The Forsyte Saga" many times with its Jolyons and Jollys!)

Definitely loving Sawyer, although being a massive Lost fan I would. How about Hurley or Jack.....
One of the little boys from the litter we have chosen is going to be called Ralph.. brilliant name for a cocker!

How about Riley as all spaniels 'Live the life of Riley'

How about Riley as all spaniels 'Live the life of Riley'
We had such trouble naming ours. We waited until he was at home for a few days to see what he suited. That drove the breeder mad who was desperate to know what we were going to call him. We ended up with Reggie. We are hoping to have a Fern later, so we can have Reggie and Fern like the Radio 1 Chart show djs (you can tell I have children). Our last dog was called Marmite, and I was determined to have a name that didn't draw too much attention when shouted in the park. It did suit him though.
-
My friend has just called hers Eric
-
We has a westie once (sadly we had to take him back to the breeder, it broke my heart) and he was called Travis, I still love that name
-
We alway's said that if we have a boy dog then the 3 names to choose from were:
Billa - as in Billabong as we have a girly called Roxy we named her after a surfwear range (sorry it's a girl thing :005:)
Monty or Freddie as in - Monty Panasar and Freddie Flintoff the England cricketer's - OH is a huge cricket fan (that would be the man thing of course :005:)
He did ask for Rooney, but that was a big NO! there has to be some kind of compramise you know! >:(
-
I like Milo (obviously), Logan, Lupin, Jarvis, Barton and Otis
-
my sister is trying to persuade me away fromt he name seth, but i really want an original name, or something a bit different you know, any suggestions?! i still thing seth is cute!
xx
-
Seth is lovely :luv:
-
I like the names Merlin, Monty, Alfie & Charlie of course, Ollie, Scooby, OH likes Joe, Jarvis.
-
Seth is lovely :luv:
Thats what i think, she'll just have to get used to it, obviously his full name would be seth cohen ( im in love with adam brody lol)
xx
-
We're thinking something along the lines of Milo...But I've just noticed there's a cocker already called Milo on here.
I quite like Jarvis or Joe. There's probably loads of Cockers called that already though...for obviouse reasons!
I also like 'Defor' ('D for' dog) :005: I'll get my hat and coat! ::)
-
OOOOO i thought of another one. We have a freind who has an irish wolfhound...Our friend runs a scuba diving club and shop and so they named him.............. PADI! :luv:
-
i like Jeffery and Baloo!!! my aunt has a grey hound called Peter :005:
I also like the names Ted / Teddy, Ringo, Thai, Bronson, Alfie & Archie.
-
How about Basil, havn't heard of a cocker called that yet. ;)
-

Now I like that! Mandy and I are divers so it would be quite apt!
-
im still trying to make a long list of names i like, dont suppose anyone can help with a name that is really cute ideally for a black or possibly golden show cocker. Ive got a few names but only a few jump out at me so want a few more, dont want a really common or overly popular name
but then dont want something tooo bad
xx

What are the ones you like so far cos there are loads on this thread already so could help stop people just repeating the same ones... Do you like human sounding names like Dave or Alfie or do you prefer more 'doggy' ones like Deefor, Scooby etc.?

I like a bit of a mixture really, some human sounding names i like but i dont want it to be really popular/overused
Seth,
Bailey,
Ollie
Zeke
Alfie
Casey
Taylor
Tyler
Thats the ones i can think of at the moment there may be more tho...
any ideas?
-
How about 'Tyler' or 'Bobby'
-
Oh i quite like tyler, il add it to the list but yeah i prefer that than names like bobby, plus it'd remind me of my friend that passed away!

-
I love-
Wilson (obviously!!)
Dave
brian!
colin!
marley
harry
and chancer (as this is what most cockers are!! :005: )
I love Dave too as we have one. Colin and Brian sound funny for a dog and so I love them too.
Chancer- very true- in fact Dave's Kennel Club name is Fanciful Chancer. Suits him.
I also love Dennis.
-
How about Riley as all spaniels 'Live the life of Riley'
I called one of my rats Riley for the very same reason! :005:
Bailey is my all time favourite name. :luv:
-

From those I like Alfie (obviously!), Bailey and Seth. Zeke reminds me of something one of the banjo players from 'Deliverance' might be called... It brings to mind a certain type of American man who probably has a brother called Festus :005:
A few boy names I like are Riley, Harris, Rogan and Finn... they were all on the list when I was naming Rodaidh. My next two boys will probably be Harris and Finn but that's gonna be a while so you can have one of them if you want :lol2:
-
i suppose it depends when i start visiting breeders etc which one i totally fall in love with and what he looks like, but i think the ones top of the list at the moment are :
Alfie, Bailey and Seth, the reason for the name zeke is that josh hartnetts character in the faculty is called Zeke, :D it took me like an hour to decide on my rabbits name when we got her and that was while we were looking at her so...im guessing its going to be just as hard!
xxx
-
I like human sounding names, hence Eric and my french lop Big Eddie.
Others on my favourites list (you know the list for the next one that OH said you weren't getting) are Stanley, Jeremy, Freddie and Frank.
Good luck, you'll need it
-
Saw a lovely black(obviously) lab puppy yesterday called Coal/Cole and think would really suit a little black cocker doglet!!! :luv:
-
Having had many pets over the years I thought my list might help! Here goes:
Sebastian (Seb or Sebby)
Stanley
Zach
Milo
Tom
Harry (of course!)
Oliver (Ollie)
Larz
Pepe
Anuok
Gabriel (Gabe for short)
Marmite
Murphy (of course!)
Bailey
Will
Edward
Oscar
Smokey
Kiko
Dexter
Boris
I'm sure there were more!...
We always all Harry 'Teddy' coz he looks like a big fluffy, huggable teddy! I really wanted to call him Jarvis...

I like Finn, Finley, Flynn (all similar I know) and Benson.
-
congrats :D how about paddington(paddy for short)
orr how about max
-
I honestly think that as soon as you see him, the name will come to you straightaway.....
-
I think you're right, il have a name al picked out etc and i'll get there and fall totally in love with a little doglet who looks nothing like the name i had picked out,
thus why we have a girl hamster called Ron Weasley ( they didnt have any ginger boys and she was very cute)
:D
great suggestions everyone, my list keeps growing
