As a very proud new owner of a beautiful cocker called Bella I was so pleased to find this site. Both my husband and I are totally in love with the new edition to our family and in the week that we have had her she has made each day a pleasure.
I am looking forward to sharing experiences and photos and also to having a place to share my pride at having such a beautiful puppy. Neither of us had really known about cocker spaniels until we started to look around but we cannot believe what a wonderful nature Bella has and how much she loves to be around us and have and give lots of love and attention. From the little I have been reading this seems to be the general nature of cocker spaniels and I am so pleased that we found her.
I added a picture of Bella to my profile but I have to work out how to add pictures to this and then I will show you just how beautiful she is.
Best Regards
Alison

Thank you both, I know that she will make us happy but we are as keen to do the same for her. My husband Steve and I are going to puppy club next week so that we can learn more about how to do just that. We have both waited a very long time to have a dog as we both have busy jobs but finally in the last few months we are in a position to be around enough to do it. I have two daughters one at work and one at college and they are already dotty on her too.

This site has a wealth of info, good luck with your little girl.
I am currently sifting through the puppy biting threads, my pup I brought home on Friday is beginning to resemble Jaws at the moment. :005: My friend has just left full of puncture marks. ph34r I did tell her to stop playing with him but I think the puppy 'look' he has mastered made her feel guilty ignoring him. ::) :005:

We have been advised to simply say no and then turn away when she bites (for a minute) so that she knows that this gets negative attention. I admit to having also bought her quite a few toys already and most are teething orientated. Every time she goes to bite I give her one of the teething toys and she chews on that. I'm not sure if thats right but until we start training her properly its a start. To be honest making a noise like pain if she bits tends to make her start licking so I'm hoping thats a good sign. It's hard to be too hard because they are babies and it is no different with any baby.

Hopefully this works but please could somebody let me know if these images are ok.....I'm not sure about the sizing
