Hello and welcome to COL

Rather depends what you are feeding him/her  ;)

Welcome! :D

If you are feeding kibble, there are often guides on the side of the packaging telling you recommended feeding amounts, although I wouldn't get too hung up on those, but they might give you a rough guide.

Also, pictures of puppies are a necessity on here  ;) :005:

Hi and welcome to COL :D

Your puppy's breeder should have given you guidance on how much to feed and how often. A 9 week old puppy should be on 4 meals a day and at least initially should be kept on the food that the breeder was feeding. Puppies are very prone to upset tummies when going to their new home as it's a very stressful time for them, so changing the food straight away can make them very poorly.

Can you tell us what food you're feeding and how much?

At his age he really needs 4 meals a day and expecting him to go 15.5 hours between his supper and breakfast isn't fair on him at all. Can you divide his food into 4 meals so he has something at lunchtime and his 4th meal is later in the evening?

By the time he's about 4 to 5 months old he can go to 3 meals a day and then to 2 meals a day at about 6 months or so.

I've had a look at the feeding guide for Beta puppy online http://www.purina-beta.co.uk/dog/product/pages/puppy-chicken.aspx#guide and it's not especially helpful as you need to have an idea of the weight Alfie will be when he's an adult. Hopefully somebody who feeds Beta puppy will advise.
