Yelping suddenly?
« on: November 14, 2014, 10:34:35 AM »
We got our new puppy a few days ago.  She has settled well but yesterday and today she yelped  suddenly as if in pain and went running off fast. Then she is calm again
Any ideas? If this is normal it is behaviour I haven't seen before but I wanted to check with you  before runnin g to the vets

It sounds like a reaction to pain from your description so I think I'd be inclined to take her to the vet for a check. Have you taken her to your vet yet? Many people do within the first few days, just for a basic check and usually for the first vaccination.

It's probably nothing to worry about, but best checked. They're very vulnerable when they're so young.

Thanks Elaine,
I have just come back from the vets.  She thinhks it is wind
I am very relieved! She has a paste for her tummy and the sooner  i can transition her to her new puppy food the better.  I am not keen on what she was being given  >:(

Wind is painful, but thankfully nothing more sinister.
