Hi to all on this forum, names lee and both myself and my partner have just brought home a  beautiful 11 week old black Cocker two days ago.

What a dog, so loving. He is an absolute joy, two young sons are thrilled. He is settling in nicely with a little whinging! I have read these forums inside out, what a wealth of knowledge here you guys!

Using these forums we have beavered away and put in place an environment for the little lad which has up to now fingers crossed , covered all bases!

I am trying to get a pic up for you guys to see but I cant manage it dunno why, he is sooooooooooo gorgeous we want to share him with you !!!

Well we will defo be around the forums

Take care and speak soon

Hi to you all, thankyou for your kind and welcoming comments, Karen we are in Oldham Manchester.

We have had a couple of sleepless nights! Little Jack bless him starts whimpering when we leavehim for the night. This quickly turns into a full crowing session which lasts for 20 mins or so then silence while he listens to see if we are coming to his rescue! Then further crowings and so on etc etc etc. We really dont want to be hard leaving him, but we do not want to get pulled into the game where we respond to him each time he cries. Any help or comments would be appreciated with any remedies that you have found to work.

Regards Lee with saddle bags under eyes LOL!

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww,
did the breeder send a blanket or toy which had been with the litter and its mother?

we put Isseys in with her when she goes to bed at night and then take it away in the morning.

Try some small item which you wear so your smell is with her it may halp.

let me know how you get on.

I'm in Stafford by the way

love

Hi there and welcome, i found the forum extremely helpful when we got Ruben 3 weeks ago, he is now 11 weeks old also.. We had at first a blanket from his mum and a toy in with him, however he now just sleeps with my cardigan!! and he has the radio on low (on some boring talk show- but he likes it!!!) I felt awful at first because he did cry every night for about 5 days and it feels bad to leave them crying but it worked because by day 6 he didnt bother at all. he now goes into his crate himself about 9.30 and thats him until around 6.00
SHANE.....WHAT A WINNER!!!![/font]

:D Hi and welcome to col
I have a 1 year old blue roan called shiloh :D
Remember the sleepless nights well, had plenty of them and tried lots of different things, radio, blanket from mum, ignoring, teddy, after 2 weeks I couldnt stand it anymore and moved his basket upstairs next to my bed, worked wonders but Im afraid as the weeks went on he started to sneak on my bed, now he sleeps with his head on my pillow under the quilt, snoring in my face all night, which is not much fun with the weather being so hot <_<
I know if I have another I wouldnt give in, well would try a bit harder anyway ;)
