I've been doing a bit of hunting around for tips for all things cocker related and thought it was time I introduced myself, Amanda, my partner, Graham, and our cocker, Marley.
Marley is a gorgeous (and he knows it!) 1 year old, solid liver boy who came to us a month ago from the Dogs Trust. We initially thought he was a working cocker but we now think he might also have some show in him as well. I'll try to post some photos in the solids thread once I can get them off my phone.
Sadly we are Marley's third owners since leaving his litter but he has coped amazingly well with all the changes in his little life so far. He has settled in really well at home and is such a lovely boy in the house and garden. We don't know all that much about his background, other than that he ended up leaving his last home because they couldn't cope with him on the lead. He pulls like a train and can be very vocal with bikes and other dogs and when he gets frustrated. We're fairly sure he hasn't seen all that much of the outside world before.
He has very little focus when out and about so, with the help of Mark at Top Barks and lots of squeezy cheese, we're working on making ourselves more interesting to him than cars/buses/bikes/cats/kids etc the minute we step out the door!
It's going to be a big challenge but I'm looking forward to working to bring out the best in him!
