7 month old puppy only eats one type of food
« on: February 11, 2017, 12:55:17 PM »
My 7 month old puppy only eats one type of dog food, it's one of the science plan dried foods. This isn't an issue yet but the food advises it is only suitable up to 12 months, so I need to start weaning him off it.

I have bought countless other dog foods and put a little bit in each time with the full bowl of existing food. However, puppy isn't silly and just eats the food brand he does like and leaves the rest around it.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thank you in advance xx

Science plan has poor reviews on https://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/dog-food-reviews/0133/science-plan-adult-all-breeds-dry

Have you thought of trying a good quality wet food, start off with a tea spoon full with his usual kibble , if he likes it then maybe adding a different kibble very slowly with it could help.

Sometimes it takes many trials of different food to find the one that suits your dog, adding a little warm water to kibble can sometimes help.

Have you thought if contacting different company's, many of them do sample packs ?

Good luck.
