Puppy name discussions for black Working Cocker
« on: January 01, 2021, 07:57:22 PM »
Ok so I have had the following named dogs

Calli (named due to a nickname I had)
Barney(named due to a nick name OH had)
Jock  (got Jack as a rescue but he was allegedly named after Jack Daniels due to being born on St Patricks day  :005: we re-named him to Jock)
Fern (named from part of her KC name)
Braan (named after a river)
Rhum  (named after an island in Scotland)

So you get the gist - unfortunately none of them are with us now  :'( lost Fern and Rhum in the last 18 months )

So we are hoping for a female black working cocker later this year (well fingers crossed for end of March 2021)

We are struggling with names - so far they are / could be

Tia
Gigha (say Gia) - (another island in Scotland)

Thoughts on both would be welcome

Thanks in advance

I love Gia...it’s unusual!! Gets my vote.

My Mum has just welcomed a brown working cocker into the family and she called her Layla after her favourite song.

Agree, Gia/Gigha, I like the sound and the fact that it has a story.

Morna, which is (I think) Scots Gaelic for beloved.
Out of the ones already listed Gigha would be my favourite

Kirsty.    As in the wonderful  Kirsty McColl.
RIP Marti  the EPI springer age 12,  and beloved black cocker Bobby, 8 yrs old, too soon, from PLN.
Now owned by TInker, tiny hairy grey poodle/terrier rescue from Greece and Jack, local rescue,   scruffy ginger terrier mutt.
