So I've been asking questions about getting a second cocker and feeding a puppy on BARF and mentioning maybe getting another pup next year... well it's been brought forward a bit. Bella's mum had a litter just over 7 weeks ago, 5 lovely strapping boys sired by Quintavia Show Stopper (aka Ringo).
So here he is, we are calling him Zorro, we (including Bella of course) are going to meet him this weekend and bringing him home in a couple of weeks' time:
Bella knows there is something afoot, I'm not sure what she'll make of him but going on how she's been when we've had doggie guests she'll be quite happy to have him around once she's bossed him into shape. She's still really playful so I think she'll love having a little playmate (not sure she'll appreciate those needle teeth though
). I'm sure the cats will be absolutely horrified but at least now we're in a house they can have safe space upstairs. The old cat, Ziggy, is kind of on her way out to be honest and just lives in the kitchen and hisses at Bella whenever possible, and the younger one gets on okay with Bella so hopefully he'll come round in time.
So I will be digging out the puppy pen, plastic puppy bed, Bella's old tiny collars, saving the newspapers and of course making a new bowl with a swashbuckling "Z" on the front. Will post pics when we've been to meet him at the weekend.
