Cost of a pup? Curiosity has me.
« on: February 18, 2007, 02:10:44 PM »
How much did you guys pay for your cockers? I was looking on another thread and alot of peeps said they paid £650 for their dogs. I only paid £450  for Loki (working type Kc reg etc etc). When I was looking this seemed to be the average price for pups (give or take a few quid) The breeder didnt actually mention price when I went in but only after a good chat (all the usual questions although i answered most of them without him having to ask) did he tell me how much he wanted.
Sorry just thinking out loud, I know not everyone likes ot talk about money  :shades:

We paid £550 for Domino in the expensive South two & a half years ago; I considered that reasonable as I would expect to pay that amount for a pedigree dog which hopefully will live 12-15 years (doG willing!!) ;)

Ben was £550 4 years ago  :luv: :luv:

Must say I was amazed at the variation - we were quoted different prices between £350 - £700
It made it hard as newbies we didn't know what to expect and you automatically think you get what you pay for - but do you think this is the same for puppies???

Sam was £350 but the rest of litter was £450 (got him off a friend so she let us have him for less). Not sure how much Benji was when bought from breeder as we are his second home.

Pepsi was £550 almost 2 yrs ago. Woody was from a different breeder and only £450 last Christmas. Pepsi's breeder did charge slightly more for bitches and although Woody is adorable Pepsi does have a breeding line with lots of SH CH's.

I paid £600 for ellie last september. prices do seem to differ alot, but I feel I got what I paid for with her. she is an excellent little girl. I think sasha was £520 from the breeder but I got her from someone who had bought her, and three weeks later changed their minds. Their loss.. she is beautiful, she came from the south so they couldn't return her to her breeder, not that I think they were offered that option.anyway i'll stop rambling now and get back to the question.I paid £450 for her and she came fully innoculated and with everything she needed.

Jasper - free, long story already posted about but counting breeder, we were the 4th owner in 9 months!

£300 Louie but he is a part worker/part show type.

I think average price round here is £500 for show type.
