Well I've still not got my own cocker but have been looking at ads for months and spoken to varous breeders! We went to see two litters yesterday, not to buy but so my husband could get some experience of Cockers!
Thankfully he was very impressed and it has been settled that a cocker will join us at some point in the not too distant hopefully!
Prices are varied but we are prepared to pay as much as necessary to get the right puppy! Hubby was astonished when I told him one litter I was looking at about 6 months ago was £650 but after listening to me explain why getting a puppy from a reputable breeder is so important he is happy now to pay that when the time is right! The puppies we saw yesterday - one was a BYB the other one wasn't a puppy farm but was very close!!!! The chap even said at the time that breeding puppies was very lucrative!
I could have slapped him!
I must repeat though that we did not go and see these puppies to buy them! I certainly wouldn't dream of it!!!! Oh and they were priced at £500-550! One breeder wouldn't entertain the KC
