what weight of food
« on: April 06, 2007, 09:21:08 AM »
hi folks
bramble is 7 months old & has just been castrated, however he is on 3 meals a day and we want to get him on 2 meals per day.

i cant quite work out what a acceptable amount of food he should get without him gaining weight from my ignorance or losing weight.

any feedback as always appreciated

Im no expert but I would split his usual daily amount of food into three rather than two and see how he gets on.  If you find he is putting on a little weight reduce the overall amount a little, if he looks a bit thin increase it.

Pretty much the attitude I take with my own food  :005:

The amount to feed depends on the individual dog, its lifestyle, what he is fed on, etc
