Hello
I thought that it was about time that I introduced myself as I am ashamed to say that I have been viewing this site for over a year now! Anyway better late than never, my name is Joe and I live in Weymouth, Dorset with my husband Andrew and our cocker spaniel Jake.
Jake was a new addition to our family last summer. He was nine weeks old when we got him and is a beautiful blue roan. He has provided hours and hours of love, laughter and entertainment since then (there were a few tears when he scratched the wall of our newly built house two weeks after we moved in and he dug up the lawn Andrew carefully put down within hours - but how can you be upset with a cocker for longer than a second?!). He enjoys walks on the beach and in the fields at the farm where I keep my horses. Jake loves cuddles, watching tv and chatting to our two guinea pigs.
My sister has his cousin who is five weeks older than Jake and they are both kept in order by mum's westie. Neither of us had previously owned cockers before but we did have a springer until I was eight. I have been amazed by the amount of people who want to stop and meet Jake when we are out walking and either have cockers themselves or used to have one. People are so friendly and in our experience are willing to offer help and advice if they can. I can't imagine life without Jake now. My mother in law loves him so much he is counted as a grandchild which has taken the pressure off for a human version!
I will post some pictures soon and look forward to keeping up with the latest news on C.O.L. Also, a belated thank you for the advice etc that I have come across on this site.
