That's the best thing you could have done. It's not a betrayal of Louie, but indicates how much you cared for him.  I've experienced this three times now and my new puppy helped me get over my loss.

As for the 6 week wait.. spend as much time with lovely grown up dogs and enjoy the tranquility of your home and gaze lovingly at all your new puppy stuff........ then prepare mentally for all the mayhem! :005: :005:
