help
« on: January 11, 2008, 05:51:39 PM »
Hi  :D

Just wondering if anyone can help me!!

I bought my dog Kasper in September from a breeder, just wondered as he is pedigree but not KC (hence no papers) do you think he has come from a working or show line.
It doesn't really matter to me cos i love him anyway regardless and he was bought as a pet. I did see both perants and their pedigree but at the time did not really understand it all (you start learning once you have one). Anyway i have no concerns about him at all he is wonderful just curious to know the difference between show and working line

I have attached some more recent pics so you can have a look for me xx

I'm not sure. He could be a mix.

Whatever, he is just gorgeous!

He is lovely, his face looks to be show type and his ears look like a show but his body shape looks like it has working in there but this could be due to him being young and a bit leggy!  :luv:

I had exactly this issue with my golden Willow, now 2 yrs old. Kasper looks very like Willow in the photos. Very show head and ears but very smooth coat and a bit leggy. She now, at long last has a lot of feathering and is perfect (to me). Her coat is so easy to keep beautiful, never wooly, so easy to groom. I just give her feathering a little trim a couple of times a year to give a nice shape, no hand stripping or clipping needed. I feel very lucky, but I now have no. 2 who is pedegree show and KC and looks like she may end up a yeti!  :005:

I'll get OH to post some more photos today. This might work

Ps Willow was sold as show and her mum looked show, just very smooth.

Willow is beautiful and a lot like him :luv:

I have posted some more recent pics in the solid cocker photo section if you want to have a look under (My Red/Golden boy),
His coat is still really smooth and has started to feather, but i was getting a little concerned as to why it had not started to grow yet, you see some pics and the coat is fluffy and really thick.
Anyway i am really happy with him and wouldn't change him for the world x

He looks very similar to Reuben, who is a worker. But to me, he can look very different in any two photographs. His head looks more domed and his ears are lower in the first one.  :-\

Obviously, I think Kasper is  :luv: and has a great name.  :D

He's definitely a show type Cocker.  Indeed, he's the image of Charley when he was about six months old, and Charley is a full show pedigree with KC papers.

Here's a pic of him at about twelve months.

:D He is absolutely georgeous, Kasper is just 8 months so he still has to grow into himself, but if he looks half as good as your boy i will be very lucky x

His face looks show to me. He reminds me so much of the spaniel i grew up with. We lost him 13 years ago but still remember him with tears in my eyes, he was my best friend.
