« on: April 27, 2008, 11:57:19 AM »
Everytime max has a blanket he seems to chew holes in it.  :005:
Any idea how to get him to stop this? He has toys!
Any ideas

We have the same problem with Dax  ::) - he has kongs filled with nice goodies, nylon bones, real bones and chew keys and he still chews on blankets  :luv: - we have bought a Tuffies bed which arrived this week - its great - it is the chew proof one - he can't get hold of the fabric to chew so he has to chew on the kongs and bones instead  :005:

Nicola on here has one which she has had for ages and it is still going strong (which is how I found out about them) - they are not cheap but as I will have it for a long time is cheaper than buying cheaper beds which get chewed to bits  :005:

The company are really nice to deal with - they made Daxes to my measurements (to fit his crate) which is large - it came within a week in the colour of my choice and cost £54. Might be worth a go.  The website is

Alfie is/was terrible for chewing beds and blankets, he completely destroys them so as Ludo said I got him and Tilly a Tuffies bed last year and it's been fantastic, I got them the really big one as they sleep together in the kitchen, it was about £85 but it was worth it, it's not got a mark on it which is nothing short of miraculous with Alfie. Rodaidh sleeps in his crate on blankets and he does chew them sometimes but I buy the £2.50 ones from Ikea for him so it's not really a big deal. I might pick up a smaller Tuffie for him if I see their stand at a game fair again this summer though.
