Have been away for several days and only just seen this thread. How awful! Sending positive thoughts to you all, and Cocker kisses to keep you going from Bailey.

I have news - i dont know if its good or bad to be honest?  The vet let us go for him tonight, he said he recovered in about 2 hours, he says it is his right side that he seems to loose control over.  And charley has been sick both times, and the vet says its like motion sickness, so his little head must be all dizzy when it happens. He seems to think it is some kind of brain infection, and maybe when he ran into the kitchen cupboard and taken ill monday was just a coincidence or possibly something that was always there and the slight knock brought it on sooner.  Anyway hes given us steroids and antibiotics to give him, he wants him to have them for 4 weeks to see if they make any difference, and review it from there.  He says if he has another episode before we go back to the vets next tuesday not to rush straight to the vets, but get him comfy and just let him come round by himself - which i am absolutely dreading as it breaks my heart.  But Charley is home, and again to look at him you wouldnt think there was anything wrong with him. Apart from the extreme hunger and thirst.  Iv just put him in his crate and hes gone fast asleep no trouble.  No doubt he'l have me up needing a wee soon, so it looks like im spending the rest of the week on the settee? I dont mind i want to be within earshot of him!

Thanks for all your concern and if anyone has ever heard of this condition if they can give me any advice that would help me rest a little i would really appreciate it.

I'm so sorry you are all going through this and hope any illness is shortlived.

Gentle hugs for the wee man  :luv: :luv:

I have no experience of anything like this, but my first thought was vestibular syndrome.

Hoping the meds work and he has a speedy and successful recovery.

Yes thats what he called it. He mentioned head scans, but doesnt want to go down that route yet because of the expense! But that is exactly what it is, symptom wise! Oh thank you for that, fingers crossed we can get it sorted without too much suffering to charley. Poor him!  Maybe the bang did cause it then after all  :'( :'(

To think of it i asked the vet about his ears on his 2nd injection because id noticed he tilted his head as scratched it alot, and she told me to leave his ears and not to maul them as i risk making them worse.  Maybe it is the infection/disease in his inner ear?? I think that would be the best outcome?

No we dont have any insurance, weve paid £200 so far.  Im annoyed with myself for not sorting it out, had the forms on the memo board for 3 weeks along with my hoover guarantee that i still havnt posted.

My first thought was that it could be due to an ear infection. The symptoms are what you describe.
