Make sure you ask about health tests. You need to go with an open mind and try not to be swayed by a photo  :D.

thanks,  I have that on my list of questions, I made the mistake of not doing that with Barney, and luckily he is ok health wise at the moment, no telling what the future will bring obviously

You are insane - if you don't take him, he is gorgeous  :luv: :luv:
Dogs are natural optimists and believe if they stare hard enough and long enough, the icing on the cake could be theirs.

That's what I thought, they are quite cheap for a 'show type' pup  :-\.

Kc registered really doesn't mean a whole lot - it's a starting point when looking for a puppy but plenty of less reputable breeders KC register their litters so don't take it as proof of anything. The pup looks really sweet but then all Cocker pups look irresistable which is why it's so easy to let heart rule head ;) Good luck anyway and remember if the breeder says the pup has been "vet checked", that's not the same as the parents being tested for hereditary problems (sorry to go on but I know it can be difficult to ask what you want when you've got a cute pup climbing all over you :D)

What we all need is a take a sensible COL friend along scheme.  Like you say Jane it's so hard remembering what to ask when they are soo darn cute  ;)
