Wow! It Worked!!
« on: August 04, 2008, 04:11:26 PM »
I just had to share this!!

Marlee's Sporn Non-Pull harness came today.

We took him down to the River this morning. For a little way once we leave the car, he has to be on the lead, then is let off for most of the walk, and WOW, my god, did I notice the difference when he was on the lead. In fact my parents noticed the difference too.

I haven't taken him out yet on it around the streets (a few blocks in out neighbourhood), asthat when we have the real probelms, but I am very hopeful when I do. The test will come tomorrow morning as we walk to puppy classes, 15mins from our house.

But, so far, all looks GREAT! It does look to be working.
Thank you who you all who suggested it, I have a good feeling that this harness is going to make my life so much easier and less stressful, and our walks so so so much more pleasant.

If you have a dog that pulls, give this harness a ago. I'm told it doesn't work on all dogs, but it does most of them. You can pick them up from ebay or PAH for under a tenner.

Thanks again!
-Alex

Really pleased it's helping Alex but don't stop trying to normal lead train!  I would be walking Marlee home from his walk on collar and lead and doing all your normal lead training stuff as well  ;)

The sporn is great for us when we take Jarvis somewhere where we know he'll be really excited, but otherwise we now persevere with lead and collar.

..are you working on comission? te he he  :005: Sounds very good  :D

My four are pretty good on there leads, but there are times when Rio goes stubborn (and selectivly deaf!) and would find this harness useful, so think I'll be investing in one for her!  :D

Thanks for posting  :D

That's a good idea.  We have a mixture of using the Sporn and lead, but it was just a case of time putting it on, and my OH prefers the lead, but we hadn't thought it through as well as that

Hehe! :005: No, but maybe I should? :P
I was just so very shocked to how effective it was in such a short amount of time!

livercake, yes, will go back and fourth between the two, once he's calmed a bit. I would much rather slip a sliplead over his head than fiddle with putting on a harness (even most easiest of harness to fit can be tricky when the dog is so excited for their walk). My aim is to use the slip lead only, but that's too much at the moment, oh my poor hands, shoulders and back right now. >:D

Same here, I'm afraid but I'm pleased it's giving you a bit of relief from the pulling.  :shades:
