Hi,

We just went on a breeder's wait list for an EC!  The bitch goes into heat in April, so we'll know more as the days go on.....I'm so excited to be bringing a dog into our family-we suffered a terrible first dog experience in the fall when we rescued a deaf 1 yo ACD, and in just a few short months that we had him, ended up being very aggressive and attacking several people in our family.  We were fortunate to be able to place him in a rescue where he is being fostered by a proffessional trainer to work on his handling issues and hopefully eventually rehome him to a family without children.

I've now done all my research, and while I still believe in rescue, know that's not for me right now. 

I'm bound to have a *lot* of questions in the months to come as I prepare for my little pup; I'm reading so many training books-I want to do everything I possibly can to ensure we raise up a loving friendly family companion.

I hope the wait for your new pup goes quickly. We'd love to see some photos from your part of the world, I've never been to Canada but I've always thought it looked beautiful :shades:

hello! fingers crossed that you don't have to wait tooo long!

i have lots of family in canada, mostly in ON. currently an uncle and aunt are in timmins and several cousins are based in toronto. have had some fab summer holidays in your part of the world, and in gorgeous new brunswick too. :)

I’ve always wanted to go to Canada, especially Vancouver Island.  It’s such a gorgeous country - would love to see photos too.  What area are you in? 
I’m in Scotland and am owned by eleven month old Brodie, who’s a liver roan show type :luv:

Thanks everyone!

I'm in the southern part of Ontario-near the great lakes.  We're in a city called Oshawa, about 1 hr from Toronto and 2 from Niagara Falls.  Outside of the city there is miles and miles of farmland.....and a fair bit of forest winds throughout it.  The farther north you go, the less farms there are and evetually (about 4hrs drive) its just forest.  And that's the really pretty part of Ontario.  We have a cottage up there and the breeder we'll hopefully get our dog from is up there.

English cockers are quite rare here:there are less than 40 litters registered each year.  The other breeders I spoke to have waiting lists in excess of a year or more, so I really hope it works out for this pup.

And and ACD is an Australian Cattle Dog.
