If we decide to have one and provided the breeder agrees but she sounds lovely and knows what she is talking about, she is a judge of cockers apparently.

Oh by the way roughly how much are Cockers going for this breeder is asking £750. with full vet check, chipped, flea and wormed, first injections.  Is that about right?

  I didn't realise they were as high priced as that, though it was still about £650 for a fully health tested puppy.  At the end of the day, what does it matter if shes the girl you want and you are happy with the breeder

I agree but it does seem alot.  Trying to keep an open mind, dont want the cost to sway my decision either way.  We only paid £400 for Cookie but she had lots of health problems when we got her even tho the breeder said she was vet checked.  Even our vet felt sorry for her when we first took her.  I would rather pay more for a reputable breeder although the other one was thru Kennel Club.

If it doesn't feel right to you and you're not happy about it then don't pressure yourself to do it. You're under no obligation to go to see these pups and even if you do you're under no obligation to take one. You can go away and think about it. There will be other litters out there, all you have to do is contact your local Cocker Spaniel Club representative and they are very helpful.

I have seen lots of litters lately at around the £700 - £750 mark, some even on the dreaded * internet site *.   If these are from a good breeder with all health checks done then I would say that is fine.  I paid £700 for one of mine 2 1/2 years ago.

Loumeg, I've removed one of your posts because what you were saying identified the breeder for me so it would have done for others too. It's possible the breeder will also see this thread as many view this forum without being active members so you might want to keep comments as general as possible, please

Jasper is officially a black and white.  He is a worker and is 9 weeks old.  Cookie being a very good girl but keeps batting him to play with her.  Bless
