Duggie's been stung in the mouth by a wasp
« on: August 26, 2009, 01:49:12 PM »
I'd left Duggie with a Kong while I took Lance to the vet, and he went back to it when I came in, but a wasp had gone into it and it stung him.:o  He was sitting trying to get something out of his mouth and crying, and when I tried to look to see what it was he screamed in agony, then one side of his mouth swelled right up.

I rushed him to the vet, where he got a steroid jab and an antihistamine. He's lying sleeping just now, but it's still hurting him, poor baby. :'(

We were supposed to be having a nice day together without Lance, but it's proving not to be the most relaxing! ::)

Oh, poor Dugster, wasps are not nice! When Millie was stung last year, we gave her ice cubes,(she loves them anyway!) they helped to numb the area and take the swelling down - she was back charging around in a couple of hours! Hope Duggie is feeling brighter soon!  :luv:  :-*

Oh no poor Duggie  :-* Our late dog Arnold was stung by a bee on his tongue when he was 9weeks old.  We managed to get the sting out with some tweezers.  He was lucky, his tongue swelled up but didn't need a trip to the vets.  He was right and rain in a few hours.  Hope the soreness eases soon Duggie  :-*
