1st Vaccinations
« on: December 10, 2009, 02:20:42 PM »
Hi, not sure if this should go here, but I was wondering if anyone could help.
We will be collecting our pup on 19th and she will have just had her first set of jabs, my friend has also just had a puppy who has also just had her 1st injections.  We have no plans to introduce them directly until they are fully vaccinated (up the park on neutral ground  :D)

Shes a lovely healthy dog and although I know shes fine Im just a bit concerned about my friend having contact with her pup and then fussing ours.  (I know its irrational, even as I type this!) Any thoughts ?? men in white jackets  ??  x
Shes my best friend and the last thing I want to do is upset her, i think all this waiting is giving me too long to think about things !
x from the moment I saw her I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love x

I always wondered about the right way to socialise my pups with other dogs while they were not fully vaccinated , but i have to say after his first vaccination Dennis met other dogs i knew , he never went down on the ground while out and about but he did meet my mums dog and a few other dogs in the house , again with Douglas , he lives with Dennis and he still went on his usual walks but Douglas didnt go on the floor when out but met other dogs in the house.  I dont really know weather what i did was correct but socialising is really important for pups IMO.

I think as long as you don,t put her on the ground outside it should be fine. My Cleo is 17weeks now and she met other people  when we were out. She to had had first vac. when we got her. Your right to be cautious. Enjoy your puppy when you get her and good luck. Look forward to seeing pics ;)
