Aww thanks. 12 hours left!  How did everyone transport pups home? Is having her sat on my lap in a blanket ok?or should I use a travel box?

I took a small box lined with a blanket but Odie sat on my knee all the way (over 2 hours :luv:) and was good as gold.  :D

If you have someone with you to drive, then i would sit on the back seat with her. Perhaps take the travel box too, just in case she doesn't settle though.  :-\  Most puppies just go to sleep shortly after the car gets moving.

We brought our pup home in a soft travel crate - I honestly think it's far safer than a lap, even in the back. If the car had to brake suddenly, and the pup was just on a lap.....well, let's just say that I think the pup could be seriously injured.

How far are you having to travel to get her, HH? Is she on the Island or are you having to get the ferry?

Very exciting - bet you'll not be getting much sleep tonight  :005: and its a shame, you really need a good one before tomorrow  :005:

Hope it all goes well and can't wait for pics!  :luv: One question, how do you pronounce her name?  Youki? Youkee? Yuckee? Like to know the details  :005:

How exciting! I remember that feeling very well. I was so excited but also very nervous as Abbi was our first dog and wasn't sure if I was up to the job!

As for bringing Yuki home, we used a small pet travel crate as I was worried that she might wriggle around in the back with the children or worst still get thrown forward if the unmentionable were to happen. She was on the back seat and could see us. She cried the whole way home but it was only a 15 minute trip. We felt very mean but made up for it as soon  as she was home. She was a bit like that everytime we went out in the car initially but I was determined that she should stay in the carrier for her own safety. We did "car travel training" every day for about 5 or 10 mins until she seemed to just accept the crate in the car and was quite happy to just doze off. It only took a few trips and she was fine. (Sorry to witter on!)

Try and get a bit of sleep tonight so that you can enjoy tomorrow.
