another newbie !!!

Hi  ,just joined the forum.

Proud owner of a  4 month blue roan show boy called Jasper ( hi Debbie !!).


This one loves a wee bit of  muller yoghurt before bedtime..........

Hi and welcome!  Wow - what a forum name!  Following on from a thread I started recently, how did you chose your forum name and does it mean anything?

I have a 9 month old golden show boy who is obsessed with his mammy :shades: :005:  Would love to see a piccie of Jasper please....  Lesley  :D

As you probably twigged it's gaelic.

I had a lab when i was wee and i remember my mum giving him his kennel club name. Seems like they have changed the rules and the breeder does it now?

anyway this would have been my version of Jasper's name.


alligin- jewelled
liath- grey
dubh- black
chon- dog


The jewelled black & grey dog !!!

Alligin is  a place in the stunning area of Torridon in Wester Ross- definitely my fave places on the mainland.

It's also the name of the local  mountains- Ben Alligin a favourite of mine.


In a year or so there will be a wee dug on the top of it !!

Hi and welcome to COL :D  That's definitely got to be the most unique username yet :lol2: There's a member on here with a dog called Liath :D  Two of my three have Gaelic names too. Looking forward to seeing some photos of Jasper :luv:

You refer to the mainland as if you might live on an Island??
Welcome to the forum from me and my non-working worker, Chloe.
We live on Skye, as you might deduce from my username, and I was amongst the mountains or Torridon just last week. Some pics are posted on another of my threads if you're interested  ;)

I am from  Renfrewshire. Central belter i am afraid.

I get round the mountainous areas of the Highlands though ( and the odd loch or two)- i love Torridon.

The Cuillin are unique and special though as well.

I can just see Jasper playing on the beach at Glen Brittle campsite, while i battle with the midges and gabbro in Coire Lagan.


 We might be over in Skye early next summer ??

Hello Alan and Welcome.   I live in the French Alps and have Selby a 10 month old Blue Roan show type, well when I say I have I think its the other way around.  Some pics would be nice please and love the name.
