Neutering - Aftercare tips please
« on: September 22, 2010, 03:09:34 PM »
Hi there

Well the time has come for Woodstock to get his "big boy" operation......  And it's happening next Thursday.

What I need are any tips/hints regarding what he'll be like after the op' from this wealth of experience that is COL :luv:  He is a bit of b****r so pulling at stitches is a definite possibility.

Please let me have anything you think might be useful.

Thanks

Bx

Rather than the elizabethan collars the vet sends them home in, you might want to get a Comfy collar - Heidi wore it last week after her op and I was very impressed how much nicer it was. Make sure it's on tight enough though as H did manage to get her leg through at one point.

Also lots of Arnica - give before and after to reduce bruising  ;)

Good luck  ;)

Or you can get vests that cover up the "area" (although you do have to remember to roll them up when they need a wee  ph34r ); I believe some people on here swear by babygros
