Hello from Andorra
« on: December 06, 2010, 12:48:55 PM »
Hello all,

Just found this very useful board. We adopted our cocker, Aramis, nearly 4 years ago from our local rescue center here in Andorra. He'd been given up as he was ill (thyroid) and was in the kennels for 10 months. He was in such a bad way that we didn't even realise that he was a cocker. He was adopted over Christmas in 2005 but was given straight back as the new owner said he was too sick and should be put down. He had no fur, could only walk about 100m and was in a terrible way. The kennels gave us 2 weeks to find him a home or they would put him down.

As we volunteered at the kennels we had got to know him so we decided to take him on. After 4 weeks of treatment he was like a new dog and has been healthy ever since. I'll post some pics later.

Hopefully we can get him to appear in your 2012 calendar!

Cheers

Arnie and Aramis

Thanks for the welcome messages. I've put a picture up on the pictures board. He's quite a character and runs the house. We have had a lot of snow here which he loves. He's just turned 9 but you wouldn't believe it if you saw him play. We've nicknamed him Benjamin Button...

Thanks again for the welcome messages. My wife and I have spent hours looking at the rescue cocker board. One day we hope to have a "flock of cockers" but for now we have to stick with our one cocker and the husky. As both our dogs spent a lot of time in small cages we can't take them to a kennel when we go on holiday, so we have to get dog sitters in. This limits our trips away so two dogs are our maximum for now!
