Hi from another Newbie. We only discovered COL very recently and can tell you that we have had great fun getting to know everyone (all very friendly and helpful), and have picked up so many tips.

Our first dog will be with us in 15 days, we too are very excited! SOOOO looking forward to Buddy's arrival.

The breeder did a puppy aptitude test yesterday and our little man came out as pick of the litter, only a guide I know, but very reassuring all the same.

Hope you can get some pics on here soon.

Look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Sarah, welcome to COL. :D  I remember all too well the excitement of waiting to pick up your new addition, I`ll bet you`re not getting a wink of sleep. Any details you can tell us? Boy or girl, colour, name?
Look forward to hearing from you again. :)

Thanks for all the good wishes and welcomes!!!!   :)

A few details - as I live in a household of boys - aged 7, 9 and 43!!  :o anything girlie is banned (especially if its pink and fluffy!!!!!) - so I was adamant I would get a little girl - I sent out some enquiries - knowing full well if I went to see a little boy I would not be able to resist  - and out of the blue came a reply saying they had 4 newborn pups - 3 boys and one little girl - and they were all solid black!!!!!!!  Exactly what I wished for  - so they have reserved me the little girl!!!!!!!!  She is now 3 1/2 weeks old and we are sorting out names.  The boys have been surprisingly excited over a girl, and names which are top of the list are Ebony (Ebbie), Midnight, Milly (other 'alf's favourite), Molly and Bramble.

I only have a fuzzy picture at the moment, but as they are a fair distance away we probably won't be able to get up to see her until she is ready to be collected  :(  :(  but even so - don't tell hubby - I printed the picture off at work and it is constantly in my pocket!! How sad am I?

I have already got my Puppy kong and a few other bits (including a puppy collar and matching lead with pink daisys on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - and am now systmatically going through this site trying to get as much info as poss!!!!!

To Jo, Dennis and Annette - SO few days left!!!!! I am soooooooooo excited for you!!!!!

Welcome to the forum Sarah! I'm also getting my first puppy in 6 weeks time so know exactly how you feel. Thought  I was the only feeling daft for carrying around a photograph of my puppy... glad to hear I'm not the only one!
I never realised it was so much fun planning ahead, imagine how great it will be when she finally comes home!
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Me too! In fact we have them all over the house. Have been promised a new one soon, but we are going to take some ourselves on Tuesday anyway.

We too live a fair distance away from the litter, but the breeder is so good at letting us have all the news (apparently they discovered her dustpan and brush the other day so she has given it to them Eek!)

I am also in a small male household (just one son and hubby) but don't mind being outnumbered. At least this one won't be leaving the loo seat up!

It's such a long wait. Retail therapy does help, but really there's only so much you need isn't there? Out today to get the "last" things.

Annette....

Have already had a good idea about that one - They have to put the lid down incase pup falls in & can't get out!!!!! :o

(Haven't yet managed to work out how to do the quote thing yet!!!) :(

Happy shopping!!!!!   :P
