sick puppy
« on: January 06, 2012, 11:29:31 AM »
Just a little question.  Copper had his 2nd injection yesterday and was really sleepy all day which was fine but today he has been sick. Is this a normal reaction to have or could there be another reason for it?

Thanks Amanda

Hi

As mini moo has said keep an eye on him and if in any doubt ring your vet it's not really normal for injections to make them sick .

Let us know how copper gets on hope he is better soon

He is drinking thankfully. Very sleepy so getting lots of cuddles.  If he still not right tomorrow will call vet.

Thanks Amanda

Some dogs do have reactions to the jabs/medication they have.  If he's not right tomorrow, ring the vets just for advice.  Keep an eye on him that hes still drinking

Willow was a bit more lethargic after her second jab. If you not sure take him back to the vet in the morning.

when Gypsy (now aged 10 months) had her second jab she got a lump on the injection site and was very sleepy for a couple of days......she wasnt sick though.....i would not feed your pupstar anymore tonight, just plenty of fresh water available, and if no improvement tomorrow, back to the vets... :-\

Did Copper get any worming treatment at the same time?  Alfie was very poorly due to the wormer and not the injection and a colleague's pup was recently poorly following worming. Alfie had to get a different wormer for subsequent treatments.

He had his wormer last week so don't think it was that.

Copper seems a lot better today, he's been playful all morning and now enjoying his afternoon nap.  Thanks for everyone replying.  Feeling a lot better now he has perked up.
