Scissor Bite
« on: July 11, 2012, 07:24:17 PM »
Hi. My pup is 17 weeks old and today when practising showing her teeth for the show ring, I noticed for the first time that she is very slightly undershot. I am trying not to panic and thinking this maybe a stage in her growth, but only having had Belgian shepherds before...they always stay scissor while growing.....anyone know if I should be worrying??!!
Thanks.

It's definitely something to keep an eye on - I'd guess your pup has started to teeth at the moment so things are probably a bit all over the place but I still would be concerned if the bite looks to be going undershot. I'd rather see an overshot bite than undershot - overshot bites in a young pup often end up correct but undershot ones are less likely to go right. Fingers crossed it is just a stage though & it will all come good eventually
