15 weeks and doesn't look like a show cocker whatsoever!!

Missy who's a choc and tan and is 15 weeks old doesn't look like a show cocker what so ever, more like very fluffy bear!! What age should she have a tidy up? I can barely see her eyes!

My breeder, who's also a groomer, said that the first grooming should be around 7 months old. I also have a fluffy bear (who looks a little fat), aged 22 weeks.

yes, the choc and tan show cockers do tend to be fluffy little monsters  :005:
Cooper, my choc and tan is now 3yrs and I have had him clipped since the age of 18months....I wanted him to be over a year old so I was sure he had his full adult coat as pups can start fluffy and then thin out...this never happened and he is the only one of my three I have to have clipped because he has more what I call fur than hair
I'd love to see a photo of missy in all her fluffy glory  :luv:

Lol I don't think I can wait until she's a year old I dread to think what she would look like then. Will try and upload photos tomorrow, in the meantime see if this link to my fb photo works?

Jake our chocolate boy was very fluffy, I combed him every night from the start (mainly to get him used to it as Tia our other cocker was a nightmare).  I used a metal comb with an elastic band threaded through.

When he was about Missy's age I was getting a good handful of fluff out of him every day (I could have spun it like wool and made a Jake sweater  :005:)

His coat is now lovely and came good about 8 months or so when those last bits of puppy fluff came out  ;)

I will never get Jake clipped as I feel his coat would go coarse and woolly, he just has a scissor trim on his legs and feet every couple of months now.

Riley was (and some ways still is)  a fluffy bear. I had to get him a trim at nearly 5 months, it was summer and no way could he go much longer, He was so fluffy, I just had him tidied up and only used scissors . He is nearly 8 months and has been to the groomers 3 times now  :o
I dont want him too short nor too long so Im judging he will need to go every 6 weeks . :-\  I have brushed/combed him every day since we brought him home nearly 6 months ago except ONE day lol.

Its hard to judge on the first photo but here is Riley the day before his very first trim.

Here he is after his first tidy up and trim the day he had it done .

Bailey my chocolate boy was 6 months old when i got him and he looked like a little grizzly bear  :luv: he was a big ball of fluffy fur , if the fur is interfering with Missys eyes i would give her a tidy up
