Title: Puppy chewing her feet after run?
Post by: DaveH on January 01, 2021, 03:15:39 PM
Hi and hello
My 14 week cocker after a run chews her feet in quite a frenzy while wincing. I have taken her to the vet and there is nothing trapped. It seems to last for a few hours then fade away. Last week it was her back foot but now it seems to be her front foot. We live in the country so i am wondering if she has an allergy. Or i am wondering if i am exercising her too much?
After she has a snooze it seems to wear off so much so that when i got her to the vet it had gone?
Any ideas?

Hi, it’s most likely to be nettles. There are a lot of young ones out at the moment. You can give piriton to relieve the sting. But must be the piriton drowsy one. Probably half a tablet as she’s so young still. Otherwise bicarbonate of soda dissolved in warm water also helps. Dip her paws in it for about 30 seconds each and repeat.
