Title: Canon 1100 - does anyone have one?
Post by: paulsutt on November 06, 2013, 01:41:49 PM
Hi

I have a Canon 1100 camera on my xmas list!...one day id like to get into astrophotography and have been told this is a good started DSLR camera for this and for general use.

Canon was recommended as apparently they still have best image noise reduction (im not sure if that is 100% true as my father swears that Nikon is just as good, so dont hold me to it!)

Just wondering if anyone has one of these?

Paul

I had a Canon 1100D and just sold it...not because I didn't like it, just because I wasn't using it enough!

Anyway, I absolutely loved it.  I did A LOT of research looking for my first DSLR, looked at several Nikons and other Canons but felt the 1100D was exactly what I was after as a 'beginner'.

It's really nice to hold, gives you a summary of what each setting does, and I think I got a bundle including absolutely everything I needed for around £280!

We took it on holiday to Cornwall and it took such fantastic piccies!

My first dslr was a Canon 1000D - I believe the 1100d is the upgrade from that version. It was a smashing camera and very easy to use, great for beginners . I do recommend it as a starting point.

It is very addictive, goodness knows how many photos of spaniels I have taken over the last four years or so :005:

..thanks for the replies..yes think the 1100 is a newer verison of the 1000. I did quite a bit of research and although Canon are the ost expensive make, this model seems to be the best for a beginner.

I'm sure it will be mostly used for shots of Baggins!!
