Title: Need a camera for action shots
Post by: Emma3 on February 10, 2011, 11:01:19 AM
I'm currently camera-less (as my old one started taking pictures where the colours were almost fluorescent :o)and want to get a new one. I want one that can keep up with Bella though so would need to be one that's good for action shots. Also preferably reasonable at taking photos indoors. Hoping some of you knowledgeable people might be able to advise me :D

I've thought about an SLR but decided they're too technical for me. Now I'm thinking about a Canon S5 IS. What do you think?

As already been said on a previous post you will not go wrong with a Panasonic Lumix GF2 ...Nice little compact camera...

Just turn the dile on  the camera to the running man and the camera will click away to your hearts content :D You can get them cheaper than 450 if you shop around...

Just had a Panasonic Lumiz TZ10 for Christmas.... Love it so far, it'll never take the place of my DSLR but size and weight make it considerably more manageable

All the automatic settinggs are there and the option to go manual if you fancy being a bit more of a camera buff

I've got the Panasonic Lumix FZ38 - it's classed as a 'bridge camera' & inbetween a compact & DLSR.
When looking to buy a new camera, a bridge was recommended to get used to, before moving onto a DSLR. Great advice & glad I followed it - it's a cracking camera & have great fun getting used to what it's capable of - but am still learning  ;) :005:
 a few 'action shots'  :shades:

and some special shots that I've been really pleased with

I think I would of been overwhelmed by a DSLR & would of ended up not using it but with this one, has all the whistle & bells to start you off, before progressing on further  ;)
Hope this has been of some help Emma  ;)
